MATERIALS'
Usually,
the originators of healing/spiritual practices have left us a
written legacy: they have produced books, pamphlets, magazine
or newspaper articles etc - or at least given interviews
to magazines or newspapers.
Even
where the originators have not directly written about the
practices, their immediate students have commonly taken up the
task of documenting their developments - discussing the philosophy
or the practices involved - and generally promoting their honoured
teacher's work to a wider audience.
However,
when it comes to Usui Reiki, this does not seem to be the case.
If
Usui-sensei wrote a book or books on the subject, no one has as
yet discovered copies of them.
The
best we have is a brief interview session in which he answered
some questions about the healing art - but without giving any
actual details as to the precise practicing of the art.
And other than a brief 'Healing Guide' (compiled by Chujiro Hayashi),
Usui-sensei's immediate students do not seem to have written anything
on Usui Reiki either (though at least two of these students: Kaiji
Tomita and Toshihiro Eguchi, did go on to write books about their
own developments in the art of hands-on healing)
